It is possible to specialize in the following areas of linguistic research: theoretical linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics), first and second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics and sociolinguistics. The department also participates in the following collaborative program: Canadian Studies (PhD).
