The department has several areas of specialization, including: Canada and North America; Europe; women, gender and the family; imperialism, colonization and decolonization; war, conflict and diplomacy. The department also participates in the following collaborative programs: Women’s Studies (MA), Medieval and Renaissance Studies (MA) and Canadian Studies (PhD).
