The department’s main areas of research are: medical instrumentation; biomedical image processing; biomechanics and biomaterials; medical informatics and telemedicine. This multidisciplinary program combines the following departments: mechanical engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), chemical and biological engineering, systems and computer engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, school of computer science, and physics.
