Health Sciences

The Faculty of Health Sciences is made up of four schools (Nursing, Rehabilitation Sciences, Human Kinetics and the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences). The Faculty excels in its research thanks to the efforts of over 100 researchers working in a variety of disciplines, from molecular biology to metabolism, from human kinetics to social sciences of health. In collaboration with other faculties, we also offer a multidisciplinary PhD program in population health and have entered into agreements with more than 250 clinical agencies and community organizations to offer our students the best clinical experiences and training possible.

Law

A joint endeavour of the Common Law and Civil Law sections of the Faculty of Law, Graduate Studies in Law builds upon the unique strengths and character of each section to offer programs at the master’s and doctoral level. Our graduate students benefit from a variety of choices and opportunities thanks to the collaboration of both sections and their faculty members. Areas of faculty expertise provide the foundation for degree programs, supervision and courses in International Law (including International Humanitarian and Security Law); Human Rights; International Trade and Foreign Investment Law; Environmental Law; Law and Technology; Law and Social Justice; and Notarial Law. The rich intellectual life of the Faculty of Law is complemented by the University of Ottawa’s location in Canada’s capital. The Parliament, the Supreme Court of Canada, and numerous federal agencies are all within walking distance from the Faculty.

Science

The Faculty of Science consists of more than 100 full-time professors in five departments: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physics.
